44th Annual Elkhart Juried Regional Exhibition (October 7 - December 23, 2022)
The Power of Spring
"The Elkhart Juried Regional Exhibition is a major survey of current trends by artists from 20 northern Indiana counties and four southern Michigan counties. This year 200 artists submitted 345 works in all media for the judges’ consideration. The exhibition features 144 works of art by 115 artists."

34th Annual Juried Regional Art Exhibit (September 30 - October 29)
Gerrie's piece Seasonal Finale earned second place honors in Heartland Artists 34th annual exhibit. Judge Justin Johnson commented on this pastel work saying painting: "Seasonal Finale was expressive in its approach to still life."

Indiana Now 2016: The Bicentennial (May 13 - August 31, 2016)
"Indiana Now 2016: The Bicentennial began at the Art Museum in 1979, and is the only juried statewide exhibit of current work by Indiana artists. Artwork completed since January 1, 2014, in ten mediums, will highlight the work of talented Hoosier artists. On this 200th anniversary of Indiana’s founding, you will have the opportunity to see what today’s best artists are creating."

"This exhibit marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Northern Indiana Pastel Society. The show includes 40 works by 35 members of NIPS. A total of 57 works were submitted. The show was juried by David Baker, art professor emeritus, Southwestern Michigan College."

Art Barn School of Art 23rd Annual Juried Art Exhibition

Art Barn School of Art 22nd Annual Juried Art Exhibition (May 2 - June 22, 2015)

Gerrie's piece, Cornucopia, was honored with Best of Show and a Purchase Award in Art Barn's 22nd Annual Juried Art Exhibition. The show will be on display at the Art Barn School of Art from May 2nd - June 22nd. Here is the judge's statement from Gerg Hertzlieb: "I enjoyed very much being a judge for this year's exhibition. The overall quality of the submitted works was high, and the styles varied in interesting ways. My judging process consisted first of reducing the entries to a number possible for installation. After that, I looked at the remaining pieces and identified those that seemed to demonstrate technical skill, as well as effective relationships among the subject, medium, and means of execution. Selecting award winners was difficult, but particular works seemed to stand out in their complexity or unique richness. I believe the exhibition overall presents works by artists dedicated to refined explorations of imagery and technique. I congratulate all those included in the exhibition and encourage all to continue in their pursuits." |

Statement from the Indiana Artists Club:
"More than 40 works of Indiana art juried by award-winning Chicago painter and gallery owner Nancie King Mertz will be on display at the IMA. Two pieces will also be on display at the Inspire Gallery in Carmel, Ind. Many of these beautiful and inspiring paintings, watercolors, pastels, printmaking, drawings, sculptures, photography and textiles can be purchased." This lovely pastel, Entwined, is one of the 45 pieces that was accepted into the Indiana Artists Club 83rd Annual Juried Art Exhibition. This marks the 3rd time in 5 years that Gerrie's work will be on display in this prestigious show!

Heartland Artists' 26th Annual Juried Regional Art Show (Sep 30 - Oct 31, 2014)
Gerrie's piece, Entwined, was recently accepted into the Heartland Artists' 26th Annual Juried Regional Art Show and was chosen to receive the Marcia Price Memorial Fund First Prize Award. According to the event's judge Jamie Ball, who works as an instructor at Culver Academies, "First, second, and third places all went to artists who chose a botanical theme, but each approached the subject in a completely different media and approach, all masterfully." |

Hoosier Salon 90th Annual Exhibit (Ongoing)
We recently found out that Gerrie's Piece, October Table, was selected to be a part of The Hoosier Salon's 90th Anniversary Exhibition! This lovely oil painting will be displayed alongside work from over 100 talented artists. Pieces will be on display at the Indiana History Center until August 24th, when they will begin the traveling tour.
